While for some, Christmas might be a time to get the toolbox out and start on those DIY projects, Christmas is a time for a freeze on IT development work for many businesses.
Even if there’s an IT freeze, there’s still plenty to be getting on with!
On the 1st day of Christmas … Review, update asset schedule and amend your planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule for 2014
On the 2nd day of Christmas … Catch up on delayed PPM that will not impact the business. Get started on that PPM right now!
On the 3rd day of Christmas … Update the risk registers
On the 4th day of Christmas … Run your internal audits
On the 5th day of Christmas … Analyse your energy usage data to see where you can improve efficiency
On the 6th day of Christmas … Check any “red status” items and do your best to clear them
On the 7th day of Christmas … Review your business continuity plans – does anything need to be updated?
On the 8th day of Christmas … Run desk top system failure scenario planning sessions to see how you can reduce operational risk
On the 9th day of Christmas … Do a stock take of spare parts
On the 10th day of Christmas … Check your fire management plan and record drawings are up-to-date and re-run your fire safety risk assessment if necessary
On the 11th day of Christmas … Review all Statutory Compliance inspection dates and previous reports for items not yet actioned and close these out. Set all alerts for the next year.
And on the 12th day of Christmas … Put your feet up and relax – you’ve got it all in hand!
